Welcome to Crothers Elementary Literacy and Title I News and Information!  My name is Mrs. Livingston and I am the Title I Coordinator and Academic Coach at Crothers.  I have been with the district for a total of sixteen years and have served in many different roles across several buildings.  I have been at Crothers for the past nine years and have taught second and third grade before moving to my current position.

Welcome to Title I programming at Crothers Elementary!

Title I is a Federal program that provides funding to schools based on their population of economically disadvantaged homes.  Funding is determined by the state and then given to each school district for use in academic interventions. The goal of the Crothers TItle I program is to provide intervention to students and support to teachers in order to increase academic achievement.  In addition, Title I funds are also used to increase parent and community participation in our school community.

Title I funds have provided the following programs and events this past year at Crothers and we hope to continue to provide these types of events and supports for our students and their families.

  • Building-wide literacy assessments three times per year
  • Title I Reading Specialist and Academic Coach for small group reading instruction and teacher academic coaching
  • Math Pentathlon
  • Family Game Night
  • Reading Night
  • Beats Arts & Smarts
  • Raz Kids web-based reading program

This year Title I will continue  to support Individual Reading Plans for students to help them make progress towards reading at grade level, along with coaching teachers in their literacy instruction.  In addition, Title I funding will continue to support extra programming for all students.

If you have questions about Title I funding at Crothers please don’t hesitate to call or email me.  I would love to meet with you and talk about all the great ways Title I supports our students!
